In the past there used to be people like you everywhere.” There are many producers who greet me with a smile while saying these things to me, even when they are busy. If there is someone I would like to talk to, I go to any length to meet them. That is my style.

Nihon Sogo Engei was established in 1972 and is still delivering fresh flowers and ingredients today. We have operated a home delivery business that aims to foster feelings of safety and peace of mind as well as convey a spirit of authenticity. In 2015, I took over the business from the founder, Junichi Nakamura. Currently, the average age of employees is 40, the same age as me. While newly reflecting on the phrase “continuity is power” as part of the second generation of management, I have felt the significant mission and responsibility of bearing the burden of intermediating with producers who are attentive to small details and consumers demanding this attentiveness.

What kind of location do producers operate in these days? What is on their minds as they work? I feel moved when I see symbiosis with nature amidst abnormal weather patterns and resolute attempts to challenge limitations. I have learned so much from intimate conversations, and I hope to convey these messages to all of you. I believe that being a fan of these producers allows me to provide choice products with confidence.
